i'm in awe with michael beasley's success but hansbrough has improved his game through the years...he is the without any question the tar heels leader on the floor...love will get his due next year if he stands at UCLA....the is no question that beasley will make a better pro than tyler but judging by team success that should get some points for him.....my vote is for the senior, tyler hansbrough......

These are individual awards aren't they ?? Why are the conversations of the "team" surrounding this issue at all ?? Michael Beasley is far and away the best college basketball player in the nation and the unanimous #1 pick in the draft.

If these are individual awards: Beasley has no rivals. Keep in mind that Beasley has put up numbers better than Durant's with a worse supporting cast. He sees more double teams than any player in the country and he still can't be stopped.

Love ?? Give me a break. Check the stats from the McD's AA game to see who plays better.

I watched Beasley the other night against KU and he put up 39 points with ease. Hansbrough is a great player but you can't compare Beasley with anyone that is not in the NBA.

this award should go to the player that had the largest impact on the season, Adam Emenecker of Drake should get the vote. never started 'till this year, and can take over a game with his drives down the lane, dish or shoot, run the offense. oh he's an academic all-american too with 4 majors.

Stats should NOT be the factor in determining the player of the year. Team accomplish should have a major impact. Beasley has not made others around him better and a case could be made that he is all they have so therefore that is why he gets the stats. His rebounding is great, but again, the offensive rebounds is because his team stinks at shooting. Tyler has made this team better and his teammates better.

Give me a break.

Beasley = 1 hit wonder.

Hansborough = Most complete player since Thompson in 1974.

The only reason Beasley has the stats he does is because he HAS to night in and night out to keep K St in contention.

Hansborough sacrifices his body every night and has two or three other stars he shares time with and STILL has those stats.

It's a joke that the northern media who controls the AP for the most part is going to give this award to Beasley.

The junior Hansbrough easily wins. If Beasley were playing in the ACC, his production would not be as high. There is no doubt that he is very talented and will flourish in the NBA, but the POY not only excels as an individual, he makes his team better and more competitive. The way that Tyler has stepped up in the absence of his first AND second-string PGs is remarkable. The Heels have been able to climb back to a #1 ranking simply because Tyler is the best. He gets double and TRIPLE teamed each game, yet still gets his points and free throws. He's a beast and is very deserving of POY honors.

Love is good player, especially for being fat and out of shape. However he is a good player on an over-rated team in an over-rated league. Maybe next year, if he becomes diciplined enough he'll lose 20 lb, get in shape and be a great player on an overrated team.

Who would you rather have on your team right now? My answer: 1. Beasley, 2. Love, distant 3. Hansbrough. Beasley and Love both have more game than Hansbrough and it's not close. By the way, in the Redick/Morrison debate was a joke. Brandon Roy should have been a major contender in that race. He had an outstanding year - oh and it's not northern bias it's east coast bias.

It is amazing to me that anyone could look at the game and not realize that Beasley, without a doubt, has earned the player of the year award. The whole point of the award is to give it to the Nations BEST player..not the Nations best team. To say that Walker, Sutton and gang are nothing more than tremendous players as well, proves that you know nothing about basketball. Your lack of knowledge in this subject shows that there is a reason that your opinion doesn't count.

I am sick to death of hearing how great this beasley kid is.....where are his assist numbers....where is his defense..great players play with a team not worried about individual #'s....USC will show beasley how not to play the game he plays and will shut his I am great persoality down and blow k-state out in the first round...as for how many all americans surround him...great players make those around them better[hansboro,love,augustine]if he had that cast he would not be mentioned as poy due to his #'s being so much lower....make those around you better and you have my vote..you will not do that, it might hurt your draft status
